Hemp Seed, Protein & Oil – The Best On Earth!

No other single plant source provides complete protein in such an easily digestible form, nor has the oils essential to life in as perfect a ratio for human health and vitality.  Today, in the USA, Canada and European countries etc hemp seed and its oil is also being used for nutritional rather than just its medicinal or narcotic values.

This is one of the most potent foods available!  It provides a broad spectrum of health benefits from weight loss to building the immune system.

Amazingly it has been found that hemp seeds protein is about 65% globulin, edestin plus quantities of albumin (present in all seeds) so it is easily digestible, in addition the protein is available in a form quite similar to that found in blood plasma.  Hemp protein contains all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary to maintain healthy human life.

Pioneers in the field of biochemistry and human nutrition now believe cardiovascular disease (CVD) and most cancers are really diseases of fatty degeneration caused by the continued over-consumption of saturated fats and refined vegetable oils.

The short list of hemp food currently on the market of USA and in European countries include: hemp oil, hemp cheese (just as good as real cheese and melts great!), hemp ice cream, hemp butters, hemp flour, hemp baked goods, hemp tofu, hemp burgers (tempeh), roasted hemp seeds and hemp beer.  Some of these are now available in health food stores…

Hemp seed is the premier plant-seed provider of globulin starting material — the highest in the plant kingdom. Eating hemp seeds will insure the immune system has the reservoir of immunoglobulin resources needed to make disease destroying antibodies.

Beyond basic nutrition, hemp oil may help to prevent many of today’s increasingly common degenerative diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, weakened immune functions, arthritis, behavioral problems, high cholesterol, multiple sclerosis, skin affections and dry skin and hair, pms, sterility and even hair loss.

Hemp seed oil is one of the lowest in saturated fats at eight per cent of total.  1-4 per cent g-linolenic acid (GLA) and 15.25 per cent a-linolenic acid oil volume. The oil pressed from hemp seed contains 53-60 per cent linoleic acid (LA) and (LNA). Essential fatty acids govern growth, vitality and state of mind. LA and LNA are involved in transferring oxygen from the air in the lungs to every cell in the body. They play a part in holding oxygen in the cell membrane where it acts as a barrier to invading viruses and bacteria, neither of which thrive in the presence of oxygen.

Hemp is not unique in having all the essential amino acids in its embryonic seed. Flax seeds also contain all the essential amino acids as do many other seeds in the plant kingdom. What is unique about hemp seed protein is that 65% of it is globulin edistin. That is the highest in the plant kingdom.  It also has the best EFA ratio…

The body’s ability to resist and recover from illness depends upon how rapidly it can produce massive amounts of antibodies to fend off the initial attack. If the globulin protein starting material is in short supply the army of antibodies may be too small to prevent the symptoms of sickness from setting in.

Hemp seed  is the premier plant-seed provider of globulin starting material — the highest in the plant kingdom. Eating hemp seeds will insure the immune system has the reservoir of immunoglobulin resources needed to make disease destroying antibodies.

Please do your own study of hemp seed, hemp protein (easily assimilated by everyone – moms, babies, body builders, convalescents, and the elderly – EVERYONE!) and hemp oil… this is some of the most important work that I have done!

If you are in a State that has laws that allow medicinal cannabis, make use of that right.  If not, do your homework and then get involved and convince your State representatives to understand the importance of hemp (see last post) growing for general uses and the cannabis side to protect ourselves and our loved ones from diseases!

Hemp – Cannabis – Marijuana All the Same? NOT!

This is one of the most conflicting/confusing topics on earth!  The political correctness of this topic has limited “We the People” access to THE most important plant that exists on this planet.  This plant – hemp – the ‘male’ part is completely different than the ‘female’ – cannabis/marijuana.  Industrial hemp IS NOT a drug!  You would get sick smoking hemp trying to get high – there is virtually no THC (the ingredient that will get you high) in hemp.

Here are some facts about industrial hemp:

  1. Industrial uses of hemp in China date far back as 10,000 years
  2. There are over 25,000 known uses of hemp.
  3. Hemp fibers can create building materials superior to wood.
  4. Hemp is heat, mildew, pest, light and rot resistant.
  5. In 1941 Henry Ford built a car with a plastic made from hemp and wheat straw.
  6. Ford’s intention was to run his cars on hemp biofuel.
  7. The original Levi Strauss jeans were made from hemp.
  8. In 1850 the US Census reported 8,327 hemp plantations greater than 2,000 acres.
  9. Until 1937, 70 – 90 percent of all rope and twine was made from hemp.
  10. In 1942 the US Government strongly encouraged hemp farming to help with the war effort, going so far as to produce a film entitled “Hemp for Victory
  11. Hemp is cold hardy, able to withstand even NE winters.
  12. Hemp is pest resistant.
  13. Hemp is drought resistant.
  14. Hemp has a production rate of up to 10 tons per acre, every 4 months!
  15. 1 acre of usable hemp fiber is equal to the usable fiber of 4 acres of trees or 2 acres of cotton.
  16. Hemp paper can be recycled up to 7 times – wood pulp paper 4 times.
  17. Hemp fuels do not destroy the ozone layer or contribute to global warming.
  18. Hemp fuel burn clean; they do not cause acid rain.
  19. Hemp fuel is 10 times less toxic than salt and as biodegradable as sugar.
  20. Trees mature in 50 – 100 years; hemp matures in as little as 100 days.
  21. It is estimated that if 6% of the continental U.S. planted with hemp we could provide for ALL national energy needs.
  22. Hemp oil is the highest source of essential omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
  23. The raw hemp seed is the only seed on earth that we could live on.
  24. Hemp protein is easily assimilated with a high concentration of protein.

Why is growing hemp now illegal?  At one time hemp was used as legal money.  Foreigners were awarded citizenship if they grew cannabis; those who refused were fined.  Hawaii is the first state since the 1950’s to legally plant a hemp crop.

What happened to shut down hemp growing and the enactment of the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act?  During the years 1916 – 1937, William Randolph Hearst created a yellow journalism campaign to associate hemp with marijuana.  Even though smoking hemp, like most fibers, will just make you sick.  Hearst along with his friend Pierre DuPont and their political cronies, succeeded in getting hemp outlawed in America.  They actually robbed the world of the finest environmental cash crop.

Why did they do such a thing?  They did NOT want hemp to be used for paper, clothing, fuel, resins, medicines and many other uses.  We now use trees and synthetic petrochemicals.  Hearst owned huge forests and lumber mills, while DuPont made synthetic fuels and fibers (nylon, rayon, plastics) from petroleum.  Sound familiar? Greed!

The United States of America is an island of Denial in a sea of acceptance.  Industrial hemp is easily distinguished visually from Marijuana.  Industrial hemp cannot be abused as a drug!  We need the agriculture might of this plant!

Industrial Hemp as a cash crop would revitalize many states agriculture economies and make a significant contribution toward cleaning up the environmental mess in this earth!  Educate yourself about this topic.  Here is a closing thought: industrial hemp is not a drug; cannabis/marijuana is classified as a drug.  There are 14 States that have medical marijuana laws on the books; while Federal law (1937) makes it illegal to grow/possess.  There about 14 additional States that has medical marijuana laws being voted on in 2010.  In November 2010 California will vote in the general election for the legalization of marijuana for other than medical purposes.  Industrial hemp growing should NOT be a part of this movement since industrial hemp is NOT a drug!

BTW:  Just a side note!  The EPA states that there is NO medicinal value of cannabis; In 2003 the NIH (National Institute of Health) of the US Government was issued a US Patent #6630507 for Cannabinoids – see the patent for all of the therapeutics medical claims in the patent!
